On 18th August, 2016, in the supporting project of 2016 the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, Professor Zeng Yuhong from our college was approved the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, and only three people from Wuhan University won this project in 2016.
With the construction of Double First-rate, there are intense competitions between different universities for the project. As two crucial steps of national talent echelon, the National Science Foundation for Excellent Young Scientists and The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars are the key factors of building Double First-tate.
The project of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars was started in 2002, which lines up with the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and it supports young scholars who have five to ten years’ research experience and academic achievements. In 2015, National Natural Science Foundation of China accepted 3314 applications, four hundred of which being approved, with a fierce competition.
Professor Zeng Yuhong applies research on environment hydraulics and hydraulic hydraulics, having been made many academic achievements. With the support of NSFC, Zeng Yuhong has published 29 journal papers indexed by SCI and one of which has been non-self cited 34 times till now, 34 journal papers indexed by EI, a textbook "Foundation of Environment Hydraulics", and authorized two national patents. She has awarded Second Prize of the Natural Science Award of Hubei Province and First Prize of Outstanding Academic Paper Award in Hubei Province. She was elected in Wuhan Youth Chenguang Program in 2009, the New Century Talent Support Program of Ministry of Education in 2011, Luojia Young Scholar of Wuhan University in 2012 and Luojia Distinguished Professor in 2014.
